Legal support

Cheeky boyFree legal support for PACEY members

Join PACEY and you can be sure of getting the legal advice you need, when you need it - all as part of your membership.

Childminders and Nanny members have full access to Legal Plus. Call for advice on any legal matter - business or personal - and you'll be able to speak to a qualified solicitor. They will give you legal advice about your issue and may be able to act on your behalf*. Childminder and Nanny members also have up to £50,000 in legal expenses cover included.

Childminding Assistant, Nursery Worker and Affinity members can call our legal helpline. Again, offering help on any legal issue, our consultants can provide an independent ‘listening ear’, enabling you to talk through your concerns and offering possible approaches to progress the situation. The helpline team can provide legal guidance and support and, although they cannot act on your behalf, they will focus on giving you the means to make an informed decision about how to proceed.

Both Legal Plus and the legal helpline will offer you help with:

  • Consumer issues - Consumer rights, house purchase, faulty workmanship, travel, lost credit cards.
  • Family Care - Care of ill or dependant relatives, bereavement, childcare, adolescent issues, care for the elderly.
  • Financial - Organising finances, debt, court claims, state benefits, mortgages, tax queries, pensions, savings, insurance, negative equity.
  • Education - Special educational needs, grants, schooling problems, bullying, further/higher education routes.
  • Legal - Probate, custody, marriage/co-habitation, separation/divorce, CSA situations, traffic offences, wills, neighbour disputes, aspects of employment, basic rights in law.
  • Health - Patient charter rights, NHS provision, private medical cover.
  • Housing - Landlord and tenant rights/responsibilities, right to buy situations, leasing and letting, insurance.

The free legal advice service is a membership benefit that applies to members of PACEY who are resident in the United Kingdom, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands. It also applies to members who are working on British Forces Posted Overseas (BFPO) bases within British Territorial Limits.
