Local involvement

Blue-eyed-boyPACEY's structure means that there are plenty of opportunities to get involved with the organisation at a local level.

Not only does this help PACEY deliver the services childcare professionals need and speak on their behalf, but it also supports local childcarers, helping them connect with others in their area.

PACEY Local launched at the beginning of 2012 and is already helping registered childminders and nannies access peer support both face to face and online. From 2013, nursery workers have also been welcomed to join for peer support.

The community website contains discussion forums where you can meet and chat with other professionals who share your interests and concerns plus local areas where you can get to know other childminders and nannies near you.

The local areas also contain useful business links and details of local events and meetings. Many local areas have a Facilitator - a PACEY volunteer who coordinates local meetings and events, acting as a point of contact for the area.

For PACEY members, there's a discussion area where you can comment on issues or discuss your membership benefits with other members across England.

One PACEY Local user said recently, "I am so glad I am able to liaise with other professionals outside my LA area as it gives a real insight into what is happening out there!".
