Childminders hold their own

Commenting on the latest Ofsted data on childcare provider numbers to June 2012, Catherine Farrell, NCMA's joint chief executive says: 

"Whilst the latest Ofsted statistics show a slight decrease in providers across the sector, including for registered childminders, the figures also show a small but encouraging increase in the number of childminder places available.

"We know that in these difficult economic times, families value the flexible, high quality childcare and early learning that childminders provide and NCMA is doing all it can to ensure the sustainability of this fantastic community of registered childminders continues to be supported."
