Payment by Instalments FAQs
New for 2016, we’re offering new childminder members and renewing childminder members the option to pay by four monthly direct debit instalments.
Who is eligible for Payments by Instalments?
- New childminder members
- Non direct-debit renewing childminder members due for renewal
- Direct debit renewing childminding members due for renewal
Why are we offering payment by instalments?
We felt it was important to listen to our members and give you the chance to spread the cost of joining PACEY.
We piloted the scheme to enable us to understand the benefit to members, listened to feedback from our members and conducted external research.
This new payment plan gives childminder members the option to help manage their finances and pay for membership in four interest-free instalments over four months.
We will look at the potential to roll this out to all our membership packages in the future.
What are the benefits of payment by instalments?
- It offers members the chance to spread the cost
- Helps cash flow with an affordable payment plan
- Means no big lump sum when you first join or renew
- It’s interest free
- You won’t have to remember to call us to renew
How many instalments are there in the trial?
The payment by instalments for childminder membership is divided into four instalments by direct debit over the first four months of your 12 month membership.
Why is the trial arranged by these four monthly instalments?
Following research with our members and other professional associations we found this was the preferred method for the majority of members. We will be reviewing this process going forward.
What happens if I miss an instalment?
We never re-present the payment to the bank. We will call you to check whether this has been an oversight. As with any instalment plan via direct debit terms and conditions apply.
Will there be any additional charges or changes to membership?
There are no additional charges for paying by instalments and you will be able to spread you costs over a four month period whilst still having full access to all the benefits PACEY offers for 12 months membership.
What if I am joining/renewing but don’t want payment by instalments?
If you’re eligible to pay by direct debit instalments for childminder membership but don’t want to take part, there is no obligation to do so via the payments by instalments plan. You can still pay by setting up an annual direct debit payment or paying by debit or credit card, online or over the phone, or by cheque.
