You will need:
- Paints of various colours
- White card
1.Add each colour of paint into separate containers which will allow a pipette to withdraw a small amount squeezed.
2. Encourage the children to take turns with the various colours by squeezing the pipettes to draw up some paint, and dropping the paint onto the card in random patterns.
3. Fold the card in card, encourage the children to rub their hands over the folded card, open and admire the designs which appear.
4. Encourage the children to talk about their patters, what they look like and what they could be, i.e. a butterfly as often the patterns are symmetrical.
