How do you link food with the EYFS? Resources to support your professional development

The Children’s Food Trust has developed three new online training courses, which have been endorsed by CACHE, (Council for Awards in Care, Health and Education). The training is in line with national best practice, as the Children’s Food Trust developed the Voluntary Food and Drink Guidelines on behalf of Government and in consultation with PACEY and other early years organisations. All training is based on the Eat Better Start Better courses, which are accredited by the Royal Society of Public Health.

The three courses include:

  • Providing a healthy diet for young children
  • Meeting the food and drink guidelines for early years settings
  • Encouraging young children in your care to eat well

The first two modules of the food and drink guidelines course can be viewed for free. Also, those who sign up to view the sample modules before 30 November 2013 will be entered into a draw to win an iPad (competition open to UK residents only). Simply create your account and click ‘sample modules’ to enter.

As well as offering online training, the Learning Network aims to be a hub for children’s food, with webcasts on topical issues, news and a forum to share ideas with colleagues around the country.

PACEY offers other food-related training and resources to members such as:
