Child protection app

Child Protection appSkills for Care and Development has published a free app to help professionals working with children, young people and families in England through the process of reporting child protection concerns to Children’s Social Care in Local Authorities.

Simple flow diagrams guide you through:

  • What a child protection concern is
  • When to report a child protection concern to Children’s Social Care
  • How to report a concern
  • What happens after a concern is reported.

The app is not designed to replace safeguarding training but is able to provide a useful accessible reminder. It includes information and resources from the NSPCC.

The app was developed by Skills for Care and Development with sector employers and associations including The British Association of Social Workers, Essex County Council, Care Tech Community Services, National Day Nurseries Association, PACEY, Pre-school Learning Alliance and Safe Network.

You can download the app from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
