Ofsted good practice examples

Ofsted has published examples of good practice in school readiness in childcare settings where children are supported and encouraged in their transitions.

One of the examples is of how an Outstanding childminder works with parents and uses their own observations to assess a child's progress. The providers were selected because they were successful in achieving good outcomes for children in deprived areas.

Watch good practice in action

PACEY's good practice films on Transitions and Observations both explore how practitioners can support children as they move through their early years settings. The videos look at how childcare professionals can use good practice to help children become confident and ready to learn.
