Getting ready for school

Start school with a smileThe summer holidays are beginning to draw to a close, and thoughts will soon turn to a new term at school. For many children, this September will be their first experience of "big school", and as a childcare professional, you have a key role to play in supporting children (and their parents) to be ready for school.

To help you, we've produced a range of free, downloadable resources, based on the expert advice members have shared. There are factsheets for parents, videos for practitioners, and activity sheets for children. Check out the full range of materials at www.pacey.org.uk/schoolready.

You can also get involved via our online community and social media. Check out PACEY Local to join in conversations about your tips for helping parents and children be ready for school. And visit PACEY's Facebook and Twitter accounts to get involved by using the hashtag #readyforschool.
