Childcare grants available

Women and Equalities Minister Maria Miller recently announced that up to £500 of Childcare Business Grants are still open for applications from new childcare businesses looking to set up in England. The grants on offer include:

  • £250 for new childminding businesses;
  • £500 for new childminding businesses that will provide care for disabled children;
  • £500 for new nurseries, out of school clubs and childcare on domestic premises.

Since the grants were introduced last year, aspiring childcare professionals have used it to help with the costs of setting up, including Ofsted fees and basic training, as well as registering with PACEY.
