Ofsted changes to inspection

From September 2015, Ofsted are planning to introduce a new common inspection framework with the same judgements across all early years, school and further education settings. In a consultation closing on 5 December, they are looking for views on the proposed judgement criteria, other aspects of the new framework and the inspection process as a whole. This would be a fundamental change to early years inspections, determining what you focus on with the children in your care, which currently includes the teaching of “British values”. If you feel strongly about these issues then now is the time to make yourself heard!

PACEY is planning to publish its own response to the consultation, so to make sure we represent you fully we’d like to hear your views in our own survey about these changes. Ofsted have stated they would like to speak to childcare providers directly about the new framework, so there is also an opportunity in the survey for you to share your details. To start the survey which takes about 15 minutes to complete, please follow this link https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/PACEYOfstedCIF.

Finally, there’s strength in numbers, so we also encourage you to respond as a childcare provider to Ofsted’s consultation; there are instructions on how to do this in the survey. We have to take your views into account very soon, so we will close this survey in one week, at 5pm on 28 November 2014.
