PACEY partners with the Be Real campaign

PACEY is delighted to announce that we’re partnering with Be Real, a national movement campaigning to change attitudes to body image, helping to put health above appearance and be confident in our bodies.

Be Real is made up of individuals, schools, businesses, charities and public bodies, it was formed in response to the Reflections on Body Image report from the All Party Parliamentary Group for Body Image.

PACEY is partnering with the Be Real campaign because we recognise the vital role childcare professionals play in helping children become body confident.

We’re increasingly concerned about the mounting pressures on young people and we know that even very young children are influenced by the proliferation of media images around them.

Our members have a vital role to play in encouraging children to become confident about their own bodies, and being able to understand how images are manipulated in the media.

We’re very keen to be part of the Be Real Campaign by supporting childcare professionals to help children to have healthy bodies, a healthy body image and develop the high self esteem and emotional wellbeing that will help them to reach their full potential.

We’re looking to develop further resources to help our members and we will keep you updated on these.

Watch out for the next issue of The Childcare Professional for a full feature on the Body Confidence Campaign and how we’re contributing to spreading the word – and helping young people become body confident.
