Agencies regulations published

With the childminder agency laws now in force, the Government and Ofsted have both released regulations and guidance for organisations that may wish to register as an agency. Ofsted have released their framework for agency regulation and a handbook which explains the framework in more detail, and the Government have published their own guide.

PACEY is disappointed that these guides have not recognised the importance of individual inspection, nor addressed our concerns about the effect agencies could have on childminder sustainability and professionalism in the eyes of parents. We are now reviewing the guides and will contact all of our members soon with the full facts and unanswered questions about agencies, so that they are informed if an agency starts operating in their area.
