Updates to Ofsted guidance on inspecting inadequate providers

Ofsted guidance on what happens if a childcare provider in England is judged to be inadequate has been amended. The guidance has been rewritten to clarify the responsibility of childcare providers following inspection. There are no new additions or factual changes to the guidance.

Other recent changes to Ofsted inspections inlcude a series of measures which will take effect next month, in conjunction with the new common inspection framework. The measures were set out in a letter sent to all registered early years providers in England from Sir Michael Wilshaw, Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector.
