PACEY member Janice Jinks has been presented with an award at the Fostering Network’s 2015 Fostering Excellence Awards.
A childminder for 14 years, and a foster carer for 30 years, Janice was given an ‘Outstanding Contribution by a Foster Carer Award’ last month at a prestigious ceremony.
HRH The Duchess of Cambridge and TV presenter Holly Willoughby were in attendance at the event, which is designed to celebrate exceptional achievement in fostering.
Janice was recognised at the awards as being ‘the backbone of her local fostering community’.
Commenting on her accolade, Janice said: “Having a happy family/ work balance is the key to the success of my role as a foster carer and my childminding business. I thrive on seeing the real progress my little ones make and their smooth transition into school.”
“Fostering and childminding requires a very fine balance so I can meet all the needs of the children and young people I care for. My professional training in early years, children and young people, and caring for children with additional needs has been paramount to my success.”
Liz Bayram, Chief Executive of PACEY said: “We are delighted that Janice’s commitment and dedication has been recognised in this way. She seamlessly combines her roles as childminder and foster carer, and the support she provides to the children in her care is truly second to none. On behalf of PACEY we want to say a heartfelt congratulations to Janice.”
