RESPECT Disability Awareness Training Days

PACEY Cymru is excited to support the delivery of a programme of RESPECT disability awareness training days, delivered by SNAP Cymru across Wales during June. The one-day sessions running from 10am – 4pm are accredited by Agored Cymru (level 2, 1 credit). At the end of training participants will:

  • Know more about the ways in which we think about disability and impairment and how this can colour our decision making
  • Recognise the effects of disability discrimination
  • Recognise how language, behaviour and actions can achieve inclusion
  • Understand the concept of inclusion and how to develop strategies to encourage it
  • Consider different scenarios of children with disabilities and how to support their inclusion
Date  Area  Venue
6th June North East  Westwood Centre, Tabernacle Street, Buckley, Flintshire CH7 2JT
13th June South West  National Botanic Garden of Wales, Llanarthne, Carmarthenshire, SA32 8HG
20th June  South East  All Saints Church Hall, Brynglas Road, Newport, NP20 5NF
27th June  North West  Galeri Caernarfon, Doc Victoria, Caernarfon, Gwynedd, LL55 1SQ

These sessions are free to attend, although bookings require a £10 deposit which is refunded on attendance, thanks to Welsh Government funding for SNAP Cymru and Groundwork Wales to increase the accessibility and quality of children’s outdoor play opportunities in areas of high deprivation. As part of this programme, SNAP Cymru are providing specialist support and training in order to widen participation and access for all. Please note lunch is not provided at these events and those attending will need to bring a packed lunch.
