Revised National Minimum Standards for Regulated Childcare in Wales

Welsh Government have published the revised National Minimum Standards for Regulated Childcare for children up to the age of 12 years in line with the changes to regulation, registration and inspection that will come into force from April 2016.

You can find the revised version of the National Minimum Standards for Regulated Childcare here. This version replaces the one issued in March 2012 for providers registered in Wales.

We have been keeping members in Wales informed of changes over the last few months, in particular in relation to the care of over-8s. We have been supporting CSSIW in promoting and ensuring settings are planning and ready for the changes. Read more on what you have to do around the changes and the support available to you.

The new National Minimum Standards will ensure that greater regard is given for children over 8 who previously did not fall under regulation.

We will be writing a blog looking in more detail at changes to the National Minimum Standards and will share a link to this when it is produced.
