On Thursday 13th October, Liz Bayram, Chief Executive, met with the new Minister for Women, Equalities and Early Years Caroline Dinenage MP.
Caroline has been an MP for 12 years, and took up her new role within the Department of Education in July. This meeting was the first opportunity to introduce her to the inspirational work of PACEY members and explain the changes we believe are needed to support a respected, motivated and well-rewarded early years workforce.
Caroline is eager to engage with the sector and meet PACEY members to hear about the high quality childcare and early learning they offer. PACEY members have an early opportunity to hear more from Caroline in an exclusive interview for Childcare Professional. As a mother of two, Caroline has experienced home-from-home settings and is aware of the pivotal role that childminders play. The article, that will be published later this month, sets out her views and aspiration for the Early Years sector.
Childcare providers have a huge pride and passion for what they do. I'm impressed by how so many are driven by a genuine pursuit of excellence in care more than just their bottom line, and by the amount of innovative and dynamic practice,” Caroline explains in the interview. “I want to make sure people feel valued and able to progress in their working environment. A successful business needs to have high quality, passionate staff, so it’s important that we develop this further.
As an added bonus, the interview will be available early for PACEY members. To receive your early release of the interview, click here.
