PACEY members celebrate at Nursery World Awards

PACEY members and staff celebrated their success at the weekend at the prestigious Nursery World Awards ceremony. The awards are designed to reward best practice and recognise and celebrate the achievements of early years professionals.

The event was held on Saturday 24 September 2016, at The Brewery, in central London.

PACEY member, Rebecca Lihou from Somerset, won the award for Childminder of the Year, presented by PACEY Chair, Jane Comeau. All those shortlisted in the Childminder of the Year Category are PACEY members, so many congratulations to Maisie Collin, Maisie Poppins Childcare, London; Sharon Froggatt, Little Frogs, Lincolnshire; and Katrina Mathers, Oxfordshire.

PACEY President, Penny Tassoni, received a Highly Commended award in the Professional Books category for her title Reducing Educational Disadvantage: A Strategic Approach in the Early Years.

PACEY partner the Children’s Sleep Charity, won the Health and Wellbeing category. You can read more about PACEY’s work with the Children’s Sleep Charity here.

This year the awards received hundreds of entries with every category strongly contested.

We are delighted that the incredible work and achievements of our members, staff and partners are being recognised - well done to all.”

Other staff and members shortlisted include:

  • PACEY’s Michelle Mitchell was a finalist in in the Trainer of the Year category
  • PACEY member Little Darling Childcare in Harrow was a finalist in the Working with Parents category
  • PACEY partner ICAN was a finalist in the Staff Resources category for its Chatterbox Challenge.
