Operational guidance to 30 hours has been published

The operational guidance on the 30 hours entitlement relevant to England only, has now been published by the Department for Education. The guide sets out:

  • what local authorities should do to fulfil their statutory responsibilities
  • what early years settings should do to fulfil their agreement with the local authority
  • how local authorities and early years settings can support parents and children

‘Statutory’ refers to what schools and local authorities must do to comply with the law.

Eligible parents can now begin applying for 30 hours and Tax Free Childcare through the government’s online Childcare Service.
