Ask PACEY for one-to-one support

You’re doing a great job, but sometimes things will happen that make you want to seek reassurance from someone who knows. Thankfully, personal, practical advice on how to deal with everyday - and those more unusual - childcare situations is only ever a phone call away.

For just £30, any early years practitioner can purchase a dedicated half hour call with a fully-trained PACEY Advisor - the same professional service our members receive for free.

Expert advice, tailored to you

If you’ve got a specific problem or concern, book a one-to-one telephone chat with one of our team. These sessions give you the chance to talk through aspects of your practice with a qualified PACEY Advisor who can help you explore your concerns and set achievable goals.

  • “How do I best adapt activities to cater for all the children in my setting?”
  • “What should I expect at my inspection?”
  • “How do I engage with parents about a child’s progress?”
  • “What does self-reflective practice mean?”
  • “What policies and procedures do I need?”
  • “Is the policy I've written OK?”
  • “How can I best support a child with SEND?”

Meet the team

PACEY have 35 fully-trained Advisors who between them have over 750 years early years experience! Below are a few of the friendly faces who make up the team.

Charlie Chewter

Her career began in childminding before she worked towards a teaching and assessing role. Charlie has undertaken all of her training with PACEY support; starting with a Level 3 in Childcare to having achieved a Foundation degree in Early Years, BA (Honours) Early Years (Q51), as well as QTLS status alongside an assessor and IQA awards.

Read what Charlie thinks about CPD in the Summer 2017 issue of Childcare Professional magazine.

Pat Tomlinson

A PACEY Advisor since 2000, Pat lives in South Yorkshire and was a childminder for more than 20 years. As well as an advisor she is also a freelance trainer and assessor. Pat still works with children through her voluntary roles – she enjoys working with children too much to give it up.

Sue Asquith

With more than 16 years’ experience in childcare, Sue has been a registered childminder since 1998, with her husband as her assistant. She has been graded Outstanding in her last two Ofsted inspections. Sue also teaches Level 3 courses to childminders and other childcare professionals.

Seeking advice is good as this shows that you are being reflective. Sometimes just having someone to ‘bounce off’ is useful. I would have liked access to more support and guidance from a working practitioner when I started out.
