Help to make a simpler, clearer Ofsted website

Ofsted are building a new website to make it easier to register as a childminder and need your help. They are aware that the current website is not easy to use and it can be difficult to find the right information. The forms can be confusing and there is a lot of jargon.

To help Ofsted make the new website simple and clear to use, they would like to speak to people thinking about becoming a childminder — like you.

User research in London:

Tuesday 19th Dec 2017:
10:00-11:30
13:00-15:30
16:00-17:30

Wednesday 20th Dec 2017:
12:00-13:30
14:00- 15:30

The research will take 90 minutes. Ofsted are inviting people to test our new childminder application process at their offices in Central London (Holborn) between 9am and 6pm.

They are offering £60 of shopping vouchers as a thank you. Places will be allocated on first come, first served basis.

Who would Ofsted like to speak to?

Ofsted would like to speak to:

  • People who are thinking of becoming a childminder soon or next year (but have not yet registered with Ofsted).
  • People who live with someone over 16.

What will Ofsted ask you to do?

Ofsted would like your help to ensure the new website is easy to use and makes sense.

  • Checking wording for the website
  • Testing bits of the new application process
  • Telling us what you think of the information and questions

There are no wrong answers – we are interested in what you think.

If you would like to take part

Email Ofsted's researcher Andrea - or fill out this short survey with your details, and we will be in touch.
