National Living Wage – are you ready?

On 1 April 2017, the National Living Wage will increase. This means anyone working in the UK, aged 25 and over, is legally entitled to at least £7.50 per hour.

It doesn’t matter how big or small your childcare business is, if you employ anyone you will have to pay them the Living Wage.

The minimum wage rate varies according to worker’s age and whether they are an apprentice - be sure to check that your staff are being paid the correct amount.

If you are employing assistants or have staff, we advise that you check their eligibility. You can do this via the "who gets the minimum wage" page on gov.uk.
