The Department for Education sought user perspectives on two surveys released as official statistics on childcare and early years provision in England. The survey covered parents' and their children's use of childcare and early years as well as their views and experiences. The consultation ran between 29 March 2018 and 18 May 2018.

As part of this consultation PACEY submitted a response which you can read here and the Department for Education have now released the outcome including next steps and changes to each survey in the future.

These included:

• Changing the sample coverage for 2018 survey to parents of 0-4 year olds
• Removing non-resident parental care from the definition of informal childcare
• Intensifying the early years focus
