Foundation Phase Excellence Network launched in Wales

A new network which aims to improve the teaching and learning of the Foundation Phase across all schools and education settings in Wales was launched by Education Secretary Kirsty Williams yesterday during a visit to Llanrhidian Primary School in Swansea.

Drop in childminders continues as inspection judgements improve

Ofsted has published its termly statistics on childcare providers and inspections in England covering the period between 31 August 2017 and 31 December 2017. The statistics show another slight decrease in the number of registered childminders, and an increase in the number of non-domestic providers. Read the full results.

MPs call for more funding for 30 hours

An influential cross-party group of MPs in the House of Commons Treasury Committee has today published a unanimously-agreed report on childcare which makes a series of recommendations to the Government. PACEY submitted evidence to this inquiry on 30 hour scheme, and was quoted in the report.
