EpiPen shortage advice issued

Many childcare providers will be caring for children who need to carry an Adrenaline Auto-Injector (AAI), such as an EpiPen to counter the effects of some allergic reactions. A global shortage of the EpiPen and EpiPen Jr is causing some concern. Manufacturers of EpiPen and EpiPen Jr are still experiencing interruptions in production which is impacting on supplies in the UK and around the world.

2018 EYFSP results in England show limited progress

The Department for Education has published a summary of the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile results in England in 2018. The EYFS profile (EYFSP) summarises and describes children's attainment at the end of the EYFS, usually in reception.

CIW and publishing of childminder reports

Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) have confirmed they have brought forward the date on which they will begin publishing childminders inspection reports on the CIW website.

Ofsted unveils details of new inspection framework

Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector, Amanda Spielman, has provided new details of planned changes to the way Ofsted inspects schools, colleges, further education institutions and early years settings from September 2019, when the Common Inspection Framework (CIF) will be replaced with the Education Inspection Framework (EIF).

PACEY responds to inaccurate stories on childminders

PACEY was frustrated and dismayed to read articles in the Sun, Daily Telegraph and Daily Mail newspapers that claim that children that go to nursery do better than those looked after by childminders. We have responded to the articles and written to the editors.
