NEWS: PACEY receives thank you letter from NHS

We wanted to share a lovely letter that PACEY received yesterday from NHS England and NHS Improvement who have written to us thanking PACEY for all its support for NHS staff during the pandemic.

We are writing to thank you and the Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years (PACEY) for your extremely kind and generous offer of childminders advice support and free search of registered childcare providers in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Your offer has made a valued contribution to maintaining the health and wellbeing of NHS staff and lifting morale during a very challenging and difficult time for everyone. The NHS has been overwhelmed by the generosity and thoughtfulness of individuals, businesses and organisations, and we cannot emphasise how much this has been appreciated at a local and national level. Sometimes the simplest things can mean the most.

We want to pass that thanks on to all our staff, trustees, volunteers and members as well. As we know, many childcare practitioners across the country opened for key workers during the pandemic and those who didn't open, continued to help children and families throughout.

Liz Bayram, Chief Executive at PACEY commented:
“I know our members, volunteers and staff will be delighted to receive this lovely letter of thanks from NHS England and NHS Improvement. The fact they have taken the time to write when we know they are still coping with high levels of demand due to the pandemic is so kind. Our childminder, nursery, pre-school and nanny members are continuing to risk their lives and livelihoods to support children and families in their care. Whether they opened for key workers during the pandemic or supported children remotely, they are our unsung heroes.”

The NHS is encouraging everyone to take part in the NHS Moment of Remembrance on Saturday 4 July, as well as the events marking the anniversary of the NHS on Sunday 5 July, where they have invited everyone to come together at 5pm to applaud the commitment, courage and sacrifice shown by so many.
