NEWS: UK Government publishes "plan to rebuild"

The UK government has this afternoon published Our Plan To Rebuild: The UK Government’s COVID-19 recovery strategy

This 50-page document sets out the phased approach to "return life to as close to normal as possible, for as many people as possible, as fast and fairly as possible, in a way that is safe and continues to protect our NHS".

With specific regard to early years and childcare in England, there is reference on p26 that the Government is amending its guidance to clarify that paid childcare, for example nannies and childminders, can work subject to being able to meet certain safety requirements, and on p30 outlining the Phase 2 re-opening for more children of early years settings along with Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 from 1 June.

The team at PACEY is now reviewing this guidance in detail, We will issue advice once we have more detail from the Department for Education, have met with providers later today and reviewed the thousands of questions and comments we have received from members.
