NEWS: PACEY works with Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) on making recruitment safer

PACEY has been supporting the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) on its new campaign to highlight what resources, advice and training is available to organisations of all sizes across different sectors. The campaign covers different levels of DBS checks, the legal duty to make a barring referral and if appropriate, access to tailored DBS training workshops and resources.

Specific to the early years and childcare sector, we worked closely with the DBS’s Regional Outreach Manager, Cathy Taylor in a recent webinar on how to make recruitment processes safer. The webinar is relevant to anyone in England and Wales who is currently managing staff in their setting or looking to recruit new staff members to continue to protect and safeguard children and young people.

Theresa Johnson, Head of Partnerships at PACEY comments:

“PACEY is delighted to be working with the Disclosure and Barring service to raise awareness of safer recruitment in England and Wales. The regional outreach service can offer free help and support to the early years and education sector to ensure recruitment decisions are fully informed and the safety and welfare of children and young people is protected.”
