The Welsh Government has developed Emergency Planning and Response Guidance for Education and Childcare Settings / Mae Llywodraeth Cymru wedi datblygu Cynllun Argyfwng a Chanllawiau Ymateb ar gyfer Lleoliadau Addysg a Gofal Plant.

Today (17 November) The Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt made his Autumn statement setting out Government’s plan for the economy.


NEWS: MPs debate changes to early years ratios and financial analysis published

On Monday 14 November, MPs attended a Westminster Hall debate to discuss the Government’s plans to reduce ratios for two-year olds in group settings. This coincided with new research predicting the cost saving that the plans could have for parents. 


NEWS: Childminders in England invited to sign up for DfE mentor programme roles

The DfE has expanded its Experts and Mentors Early Years COVID-19 Recovery Programme to registered childminders in England. Applications for the roles of Area Lead and Mentor are now open.

Today (14 November) Ofsted published a new report looking into early years curriculum and pedagogy in England.


NEWS: IFS figures predict 8% fall in early years funding due to inflation and rising costs

A new report from the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) outlines the changes in Government spending in the early years sector over time in England and predicts a real-time cut in funding of up to 8% by 2024.
