NEWS: Funded PACEY membership in Wales / Aelodaeth PACEY a ariennir yng Nghymru

PACEY Cymru are pleased to announce that through a generous donation from The Moondance Foundation and additional funding from the Welsh Government we are able to provide funded membership for eligible members in Wales from April 2023 to March 2024.  Mae PACEY Cymru yn falch o gyhoeddi, trwy rodd hael gan The Moondance Foundation a chyllid ychwanegol gan Lywodraeth Cymru, ein bod yn gallu darparu aelodaeth wedi’i hariannu ar gyfer aelodau cymwys yng Nghymru rhwng Ebrill 2023 a Mawrth 2024.

NEWS: The Labour Party on childcare

Earlier this morning, Bridget Phillipson MP, the shadow education secretary, delivered a speech on Labours plans for childcare moving forward. She promises to make reforming the childcare system her “first priority in government.” And states “The childcare model the Conservatives have built fails everyone, denying parents the ability to work the jobs they’d like, to give their children the opportunities they’d like, and is not of the quality that staff want to provide,”.

NEWS: Coram Family and Childcare releases the Childcare Survey 2023

As seen on the BBC news this morning, Coram Family and Childcare have released the Childcare Survey 2023, which is the 22nd annual survey mapping the cost and availability of childcare across Great Britain. They have highlighted some key findings, including the significant shortfall in childcare places with ‘just half of local authorities reporting enough childcare for children under 2’.

NEWS: DfE publishes SEND and AP improvement plan

Transformational reform begins for children and young people with SEND. The SEND and AP Improvement Plan published today (Thursday 02 March) confirms investment in training for thousands of workers so children can get the help they need earlier, alongside thousands of additional specialist school places for those with the greatest needs – as 33 new areas are approved for special free schools to be built as of today.

NEWS: Ofsted publishes research review into art and design

Last week (22 February) in its Research review series, Ofsted published new research and analysis into art and design.  The context of the review says ‘Art is a rich and varied set of practices central to human civilisation. Art itself is not static, and its purposes, materials and methods are always evolving.’
