Following the announcement of government’s Covid-19 recovery measures in England last week, PACEY has joined an important coalition of over 240 stakeholders to call on government to reconsider these plans and urgently boost investment for children and young people.
Today, two separate letters to the Prime Minister coordinated by Fair Education Alliance and the National Children’s Bureau urge government to set out a new and ambitious vision of childhood and education to support babies, children, young people and their families to recover from the impact of coronavirus, with #ChildrenAtTheHeart of its plans.
The letters set out the need for urgent investment in vital services for children and young people to help reverse rising child poverty and increase support for mental health. As part of this the coalition calls for much-needed support for early years settings and schools, including development for the workforce, particularly those who support disadvantaged children.
