BLOG: Expand your skills and knowledge at Childcare & Education Expo

Childcare & Education Expo aims to educate with a show tailored for early years professional development. Coming to Olympia London on 20 and 21 March 2020, this two-day event is full of exciting seminars and workshops.

The seminar programme is a great way of topping up your CPD and learning new skills that you can take back to your setting. Pedagogy will feature heavily in the Early Years Theatre with some big name speakers and hot topics. Claire Warden from Mindstretchers Ltd will be helping attendees visualise their settings through nature pedagogy. The Curiosity Approach are back with a fantastic seminar surrounding their approach to pedagogy and how you can adapt it to your education environment.

June O'Sullivan MBE, Chief Executive of LEYF will focus on leadership in early years. Her seminar will concentrate on how to be a successful leader and will investigate how childcare places can be provided for parents who work as well as creating educational opportunities for children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

With well-being at the heart of childcare, Linda Baston-Pitt will help to put it at the heart of your organisation. She will guide you through the ways of meeting workload demands, Ofsted requirements and promoting health and wellbeing in your setting.

On top of the amazing seminar programme, there are interactive workshops to get involved with. These include the fantastic Sophia Mitchell, owner and founder of Labtots. Her workshop will show you what science looks like in early years and why it should be taken advantage of as early as possible. She will provide demonstrations, hands-on activities and explanations that show how fun and engaging science can be.

Learning a second language at a young age, but how do you incorporate it into an early years setting? Anna Neville, founder and CEO of Kidslingo Ltd will be explaining the benefits of a second language to heightened cognitive development in her workshop and will bring language to life for both the children learning and the educators teaching.

Kathryn Lord, author of More to Books, is back with a workshop that will share books and ideas that will come to life in her interactive session, with sections in maths and screen time.

Registration for Childcare & Education Expo is a free event, with plenty to do. On top of the seminar and workshop programmes, visitors can spend time browsing the thousands of products and resources, meeting special guests and taking advantage of onsite competitions and offers.
