Explaining differences: supporting children to understand speech, language and communication needs

Speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) are often hidden difficulties, which can make it challenging for other children to be aware of how and when other children struggle to communicate.  Other children may become aware of the behaviour of children with SLCN (e.g. finding it hard to take turns or share or not saying very much) but may be confused about why this is happening.
