I feel the title of the book is slightly misleading, This is a book that is more for practitioner information than recipes. There is lots of information about nutrition and also case studies and ideas from various settings. There is also more information about the allergen requirements.
I would have liked to have seen more recipes to be able to cook with the children, (as most child friendly cooking recipes are all baking in other books) however if you need to learn more about nutrition, special diets and a few snack/main meal ideas then this is a good buy!

I was a bit disappointed with the book, I obviously didn't notice before I ordered it that it said there were only 15 recipes as I assumed it was a recipe book. There's a lot of info which is helpful but nothing I didn't already know. The recipes are ok but just a bit unexciting. As childminders we know how difficult it is to feed children something totally different from that which they may be given at home. It would have been good to have some more healthy variations on baking/desserts as let's face it that's what we all like and offering fruit each day isn't going to go down well with hungry kids! I will try all the recipes out and maybe pleasantly surprised in which case I will rewrite my review!
