CYPOP5 - how long will it take?
The face-to-face course will normally run for 14 classroom hours. It is often delivered over three days. You will have 6 months to complete the online course from the date you have enrolled - you can complete it in your own pace within this time frame the average learner completes the online course in three months.
What is the assessment process?
When you enquire about a local face-to-face CYPOP5 course you will be provided with details of the multiple choice assessment date - please ensure that you are available to attend this. This is a knowledge-based assessment, therefore all questions will be linked to the course syllabus.
The online course is through e-learning so you’ll need access to a computer, and some basic computer skills, to complete the course. You can view your training on or offline on an Apple or Android handheld device (a phone or tablet), but you will need access to a PC or laptop in order to upload your written assignments to the e-learning platform as the online course is assessed through a portfolio of work.
CYPOP5 - what support is available to me?
All learners receive a six month free PACEY learner membership with the purchase of this course. All members are able to access resources through the members area on the PACEY website using their PACEY learner membership to support around completion of the course.
Your PACEY Tutor/Assessor is also committed to helping you to achieve your learning objectives. They will provide information on the guidance and support available to you in the initial session.
How much will it cost?
Some local authorities will fund this course for prospective childminders. Contact your local Family Information Service to find out if you can access funding and to check whether your local authority recognises this course.
Both the CYPOP5 face-to-face and online course costs £249.99 (including VAT). The course fees include all assessment and registration fees.

Refunds and cooling-off period
In accordance with The Consumer Contracts (Information Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, if you have enrolled on the course you may cancel your e-learning course on the expiry of 14 days beginning with the day on which the contract was concluded (cooling-off period). If we have already started to provide services to you during the cancellation period, you shall pay us an amount which is in proportion to what has been performed until you have communicated us your cancellation from this contract, in comparison with the full coverage of the contract.
Cancellations must be made in writing and sent to: Standards and Training, PACEY, Northside House, Third Floor, 69 Tweedy Road, Bromley, Kent BR1 3WA. You may wish to use our model cancellation form instead.
