Easy steps to membership

Step 1

Complete an accredited 12-hour paediatric first-aid course. PACEY offers paediatric first-aid training, tailored especially to home-based childcarers. Your local Family Information Service should also hold a list of local training providers.

Step 2

Contact an organisation that can process a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (formally CRB - Criminal Records Bureau) on your behalf. The Home Office has a full list of organisations that can also provide this service.

Step 3

Call PACEY and ask about PACEY Nanny membership. You’ll need your first-aid certificate number and DBS (formally CRB) disclosure number if you’re not registered or planning to register with Ofsted or CAS.

Step 4

Commit to doing at least 15 hours of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) per year. This commitment shows you are a professional and also gives you the opportunity to move through PACEY's categories of membership, helping you demonstrate your experience as a childcare professional.
