New training course - Safeguarding Children

PACEY is delighted to launch its new online training course which is free to all PACEY members.

The topic of Safeguarding children is as important today as its ever been. The Safeguarding Children course has been created by PACEY to help everyone understand their roles and responsibilities in relation to the safeguarding, protection and welfare of children. The course includes links to statutory documents and serious case reviews.

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Define Safeguarding and Child Protection
  • Identify the regulatory requirements for safeguarding children within an early years setting
  • Identify your own local authority safeguarding procedures
  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of childcare and early years professionals in relation to the safeguarding, protection and welfare of children
  • Know the signs, symptoms, indicators and behaviours that may cause concern relating to the various forms of child abuse
  • Know the actions to take if harm or abuse is suspected and or disclosed
  • Explain the procedures (including whistleblowing) that need to be followed by childcare and early years professionals when abuse is suspected

This course is free for PACEY members and is available to access via the free training link once you’ve logged in. After completing the course, a certificate is available to download and proudly show off.
