PACEY and Kinderly join forces to combat paperwork woes

The Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years (PACEY) is pleased to announce a partnership with Kinderly, the leading early years and development app.

A PACEY survey highlighted that the burden of paperwork was the biggest issue for a quarter of early years professionals.* With childcare providers facing huge volumes of time-consuming paperwork, PACEY has long recognised the benefits for settings to embrace digital technology, and now has linked up with Kinderly to save members both time and money.

Kinderly, is the award-winning early years app for recording and sharing learning journeys, allowing childcare professionals to securely record EYFS observations and developmental progress, without the need for any paperwork.

The app allows users to track progress of all children in a setting at a glance.  Reports can be created and shared with parents, plus daily diaries recorded including all meals, activities and naps. Removing the need for cumbersome folders and printed material; using Kinderly allows you to store all documents in one place, saving not just time but space and printing costs.

Liz Bayram, Chief Exec, PACEY says: “Excessive paperwork, we know, is one of the biggest bug bears for our members, so we are delighted to partner with Kinderly on a unique product. Being able to record all aspects of the learning journey in one easy to use system allows practitioners to build parent partnerships and heightens engagement. PACEY has worked closely with Kinderly to develop a bespoke package for members which is not only extremely cost effective but offers a number of exclusive features. Kinderly is fully EYFS compliant meaning it delivers real benefits to early years practitioners.  We know Ofsted inspections can be daunting but by having the right system in place eliminates paperwork anxieties, meaning practitioners can spend more time with children.”

Kinderly is the brainchild of software developer and father Geraint Barton. Having two children in two different nurseries – a two year old who couldn’t tell him what he had done that day, and a four year old who wouldn’t; he really felt like he was missing out on their learning journey. He wanted to create a way that practitioners and parents could use to share information – and Kinderly was born.

Geraint Barton, Founder, Kinderly comments: "We are really excited to be working with PACEY and having the opportunity to collaborate with their members to help develop a digital solution that works best for them.   Through this partnership we can strive to achieve our shared goal to continuously improve the early years sector and provide the resources to enable this."

Security is a big feature of Kinderly, and one of the reasons PACEY chose it above other providers. It uses industry-leading technology to encrypt and keep information safe, eliminating any concerns about data security and has an A+ internet security rating.**

The platform is also seen as a valuable tool to inspectors. One Early Years Ofsted Inspector has commented: "The information contained in Kinderly makes it much easier to access the evidence to make informed judgements instead of scrutinising paper files which vary in quality and are time consuming. In my view this product is excellent and will be highly beneficial to all Early Years practitioners and very supportive when conducting inspections."
