NEWS: Testing in Wales/Profi yng Nghymru

The Welsh Government have confirmed plans for collection of lateral flow device test kits for childminders and other smaller settings in Wales.  Mae Llywodraeth Cymru wedi cadarnhau cynlluniau ar gyfer casglu citiau dyfais llif unffordd ar gyfer gwarchodwyr plant a lleoliadau llai eraill yng Nghymru.

NEWS: Childminders excluded from face covering delivery drop

The Department of Health and Social Care has announced that maintained, school-based, and PVI nurseries and pre-schools in England will receive a ‘one-off’ drop of face coverings delivered direct to settings.The DHSC is not extending this delivery of face coverings to childminders, and instead recommend that childminders source these from local nurseries and schools.

NEWS: Childminders unable to access home tests despite rollout to PVI nurseries

From today (11 March) all Private, Voluntary and Independent (PVI) nurseries in England will begin to receive home testing kits for regular asymptomatic coronavirus testing. The Department for Education and Department of Health and Social Care are yet to formalise plans to make these available to childminders, who have to rely on community testing sites to access these.

NEWS: Protect Duty consultation open to educators and public

On 26 February the Government launched a consultation on a ‘Protect Duty’ which seeks to improve security and organisational preparedness at a wide range of publicly accessible locations, including education settings. The consultation will run until 2 July 2021.
