Making Tax Digital system updates

HMRC will be undertaking scheduled maintenance to the Making Tax Digital (MTD) VAT service to enable them to release additional functionality. As a result the service will be unavailable from 17:00 on Friday 30 November until 11:00 on Tuesday 4 December.


Sector loses nearly a thousand childminders between March and August

Ofsted has published its latest statistics on childcare providers and inspections, covering the period between 31 March and 31 August 2018. The number of childminders in England has continued to drop, whilst the number of non-domestic providers has increased slightly. Nearly all (95%) of providers have been graded “good” or “outstanding”, including 94% of childminders.


Childcare business grant scheme to close

The Department for Education has today announced that the Childcare Business Grant Scheme that is available to childminders, childcare providers on domestic premises and childminder agencies operating in England will be ending on 31 March 2019. PACEY has written to Government about this issue.

Ofsted confirms there have been no changes to its registration policies
