Training with Open University
If you have completed a level 3 qualification as an early years and childcare professional you may be wondering what the next step would be. We work closely with the Open University to support you in deciding whether higher education is for you.
For example, you might be interested in studying a full degree, drawing on your experience as a childcare professional. The Open University has a new qualification – BA (Hons) Early Childhood, starting in October 2016.

CPD - new for 2017
The Level 4 module Young children’s play and creativity can be studied as part of the BA (Hons) Early Childhood, or as a stand-alone professional development worth 60 credits.
This module is practice focused, aimed at experienced early childhood practitioners, as well as those with an interest in studying children’s play and creativity. It is designed to support you in developing your knowledge and understanding about children’s play and creativity in a range of contexts.
There are no pre-requisites for study but opportunities to observe young children (aged between birth and 7 years), and practice, throughout the module will enhance your learning.
The module is based on a holistic approach to understanding early childhood from multi-disciplinary perspectives and focuses on the child’s voice, the participatory nature of young children’s experiences and their ownership of play and creative spaces.
